First comes marriage, then comes baby, then comes POTTY TRAINING!

I have to confess something, I REALLY DON'T LIKE POTTY TRAINING!! And I don't think potty training likes me either!

I had to start potty training Lil Gal at 20 months old. I prefer to say 1 year and 8 months old, but that's another story for an other day...

I had no choice, it was either I duct taped her diaper on, or let her constantly take it off and  spread stuff in places. All places. Places I didn't even know we had...

So I tried it, cold turkey! TRAINING UNDERWEAR! (Or panties, but i dont like that word)... she only wears diapers at nap and bed time.
It didn't take her a long time to figure out how to use the potty. Number one AND number two!
I was stressed out about number 2 because I've heard horror stories of kids keeping the poop in for days, or hiding their poop in the closet... I simply plopped it in the potty (from out of her diaper) and showed her "where it went". It worked!
But then came the, I'm too smart for you attitude. I can pee where ever I want to and use it to my advantage.
I don't want to go for a nap. -Pees in bed.
I don't want to play on the deck. -Poops on deck.
I don't want to stay in my room. -Poops and pees all over bed room.
I want mommy's attention -Pees in high chair. (Right after I asked if she had to go)
Potty training is hard. It's exhausting! Especially with a strong willed child!
On top of it all, nap time is something that sometimes takes hours to achieve. Sad I know. No rest for this mama!
I'm still trying to master the Art of potty training. Every kid is different.

I've done some research. After all, there must be a mircale method that I've never thought of???...
First
- figure out why your kid is peeing and pooping everywhere.
Is it because:
-You're on the phone/internet aaallll the time?
-Are they too young and just don't get it?
-Did you just have a new baby? Pet? Boy friend? Husband? Wife??!
-Are you so stressed out about potty training that it makes your kid stressed, therefore doesn't want to PT  because "mommy is stressed"?
-Are you scaring your kid yelling and punishing them every time because you're just so stressed out and frustrated because "it's not that hard to understand?!!" And therefore, they don't tell you when they have to go,because they are scared?
-Did you have guests sleep over for a "lengthly" period?
-Are your kids over tired? Sick?
-are you being consistent? (With kid and spouse?)

Oh the possibilities are endless!
I also just heard from my sister in laws that potty training never really ends. Even at 5-6-7-10-20-30-80 years old!! Bowel stress in an ongoing lifelong struggle. By the time you're 100% potty trained, you're right back in a diaper again! Well, it "depends".... hehe...

My mom always has good Godly advice for me. She reminded me to bring my worries to Jesus! DON'T STOP PRAYING! with AND without your kid!

Matthew 6:26
Look at the birds. They don't plant or harvest or store food in Barns, for your heavenly father feeds them. And aren't you far more valuable to him than they are?

Secondly:
I think for every kid and parent the stories are different.
-The nice things about kids is that they are awfully patient and flexible.
-But they also need consistency.
- And make sure to apologize if you went overboard.

One day they will get it. And never even remember a single day of potty training! (Well I don't anyway!)
Dont be too hard on yourselves. Share the load. (Excuse the pun)...
